Architectural Review Committee

The Talent Architectural Review Committee (TARC) advises the City Planner on applications for new construction or redevelopment in the Old Town Design District. The Old Town Design District was created to respect and enhance the character of Talent’s original core areas while maintaining the city’s traditional, rural and vernacular architectural heritage. 
 
TARC works to assure compatibility with the defining characteristics of the surrounding area or to preserve the integrity of existing neighborhoods or to support a unifying theme for a particular development or area in order to spur economic growth and helps to provide for careful review of new construction or alteration of existing structures in areas of the City.

TARC also provides property owners, contractors and consultants with technical assistance and design alternatives to ensure that proposed projects conform with the applicable standards and enhance the social, cultural, economic, environmental and aesthetic development of the community by encouraging both harmonious and innovative design.
