Park Rules

To maintain the welcoming atmosphere of our city parks for everyone, it was essential to adhere to the following rules and regulations outlined in city ordinance 286.

[City Parks Rules]

  • Park hours: daylight hours only
  • No alcohol
  • No fires
  • No firearms
  • Do not harm any animal or plant
  • No soliciting
  • No vehicles
  • No depositing of trash or feces
  • No overnight camping
  • No dogs (except in Talent Bark Park) or other domesticated companion animal or livestock

The Talent Community thanks you for your cooperation in complying with these rules to ensure the safe and sanitary use of our parks by all of our residents. Park rules are enforced by the Talent Police Department and violators could be cited maximum fines up to $250 for each violation.


[Bark Park Rules]

The City of Talent welcomes residents and their canine friends to our dog friendly Bark Park, located next to our police station at 604 Talent Avenue. 

  • Bark park hours: 6am to sunset
  • Dog owners must:
  1. Close and latch gates after entry and exit from bark park
  2. Have dog(s) properly licensed and have current identification tag
  3. Have dog(s) properly vaccinated (contact Jackson County Animal Shelter)
  4. Use dog stations to clean up after your dog
  5. Have dog(s) on leash when entering and leaving designated areas
  6. Be present with the dog(s) under voice control at all times
  7. Remove female dog(s) in estrus (heat) from designated areas when other dog(s) enters the area
  8. Not allow dogs to fight, bite, or bark excessively
  9. Prevent dog(s) from digging and/or damaging park resources
  • Potentially dangerous dog(s) must remain on leash
  • Call 911 if problem is serious
  • All children must remain under adult supervision at all times
  • Keep your eye on your dog(s) and never leave your dog unattended
  • Dog owner is liable for dog(s) behavior
  • Smoking is not allowed in the off-leash area
