City of Talent Welcomes Daniel Collay as Newest Councilor

Councilor Daniel Collay

During the Regular Council meeting on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, the Talent City Council appointed a new member to fill a recent vacancy left by former councilor Jason Clark. Daniel Collay, a Talent resident, was appointed to serve the remainder of council seat 6.

Collay brings valuable experience to the council, having served on the Talent Urban Forestry committee for the past two years, including a recent role as committee secretary. Originally from Eugene, Collay relocated to southern Oregon to attend Southern Oregon University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies. Currently, he holds the position of Director of Operations at Willow-Witt Ranch, a role he has fulfilled for the past five years. Additionally, Collay serves as the Board Chair of the Friends of Cascades-Siskiyou National Monument.

In his council application, Collay expressed his strong connection to the community and his eagerness to contribute to its stewardship. His diverse range of personal and professional experiences aligns well with the responsibilities of serving on the city council.

Collay will hold seat 6 until December 31, 2024, with council seats 2, 4, and 6 set for election during the 2024 General Election.
