Committee Vacancies
There continues to be openings on several City Committees.  There is a position available on the Planning Commission.  While normally a 4 year term, an appointment would be filling a term that expires in December 2009.  The Budget Committee (2 years) still has one opening and the Parks Commission (4 years) has one opening.  If you would like additional information about these committees you can review descriptions on the City’s website www.cityoftalent.org or call and ask at City Hall.

Planning Commission -
There is one vacancy.  The Planning Commission is established by City Council and meets regularly on the 4th Thursday, and the 2nd Thursday as needed.

Harvest Festival Committee - This committee accepts any volunteers and they are not appointed by the City Council.  We are a diverse group of volunteers and city staff who share a desire to provide quality fun and entertainment in the community of Talent.   Please join us!  Every year at this time we begin planning the Harvest Festival.  We are seeking new members.  We meet once per month at City Hall beginning in February through September, and then ultimately volunteers would help the day of the festival!  The 2008 Harvest Festival will be held on Saturday, September 13th.  If you wish to volunteer your time to help us with this community project and have fun doing it, please let us know!  To get details of all the “days events” and pictures of last year’s festival, visit our website at
cityoftalent.org and click Calendar of  Events link.
For more information on this committee or the festival, please call: Cheryl at 535-1566 or email cheryl@cityoftalent.org

Centennial Celebration Planning Committee - The City continues to look for citizen volunteers to serve on the Centennial Celebration Planning Committee.  The birthday celebration will be throughout 2010 and people with an interest in planning a series of events to take place over the year are encouraged to apply.

Budget Committee - This committe will start it’s work in May and one more citizen is needed to have a full representation of the citizens.  The Budget Committee reviews and recommends the City budget to the City Council.  State law requires that the Committee be comprised of the Mayor and 6 City Councilors and a matching number of citizens.  Training is available so that anyone can learn and be of help to the City on this committee.
If you are interested in any of these committees please contact City Hall and submit an
application.
