City of Talent has been recognized under the Tree City USA program for over twenty-five years and was named Oregon Department of Forestry’s 2023 Oregon Tree City of the Year.
The City has engaged in multiple efforts since the Almeda Fire to restore tree canopy, including administering a grant from Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board that planted over 1,000 trees around the City.
The Talent Urban Forestry Committee organizes work parties and advises City Council on tree-related issues. At the request of the Urban Forestry Committee, City Council recently adopted an Urban Forestry Master Plan.
