Defensible Space Incentive Program for Phoenix and Talent Residents

The Oregon State Fire Marshal has extended its incentive program to support defensible space projects in Talent, Phoenix, and some surrounding communities.

Key Details:

• Eligibility: Home and property owners in designated areas.
• Assessment: Fire District 5 will conduct free property assessments to evaluate wildfire vulnerabilities and provide recommendations for creating or improving defensible space.
• Incentive: Eligible participants will receive a $250 prepaid gift card from the Oregon State Fire Marshal (OSFM) upon completion.

Important Notes:

• Funding is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
• The assessment process and wildfire prevention best practices remain free, even if funding is exhausted.
• Gift cards may take up to eight weeks to arrive.

This program promotes proactive wildfire prevention by encouraging property owners to enhance their defensible space and reduce wildfire risks.
