The Oregon State Fire Marshal has extended its incentive program to support defensible space projects in Talent, Phoenix, and some surrounding communities.
Key Details:
- Eligibility: Home and property owners in designated areas.
- Assessment: Fire District 5 will conduct free property assessments to evaluate wildfire vulnerabilities and provide recommendations for creating or improving defensible space.
- Incentive: Eligible participants will receive a $250 prepaid gift card from the Oregon State Fire Marshal (OSFM) upon completion.
Important Notes:
- Funding is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The assessment process and wildfire prevention best practices remain free, even if funding is exhausted.
- Gift cards may take up to eight weeks to arrive.
This program promotes proactive wildfire prevention by encouraging property owners to enhance their defensible space and reduce wildfire risks.
