Arrests Made in Car Break-ins

The Talent Police Department has been taking a number of reports of car break-ins in the last few weeks.  On the morning of 041519, Officers took reports of 5 vehicles being broken into overnight in the 200 block of N. Front Street and the 100 block of W. Main Street.
 
On 041519 at approximately 0915 hours, Officers stopped Michelle White for a pedestrian violation in the 100 block of S. 1st Street.  Officers interviewed the subject and subsequently released her.  Later, Officers recognized that White had been in possession of an item reportedly stolen from one of the vehicles overnight.
 
At approximately 1443 hours, Officers located White at 111 S. 1st Street.  She was taken into custody without incident.  Subsequent investigation revealed another individual at that address, Daryl Melfi, was involved in the car break-ins overnight.
 
Melfi and White will both be lodged at the Jackson County Jail on the below listed charges:
 
-Melfi, Daryl Lee, DOB/081871, Transient – Parole Violation – Dangerous Drugs, 5 counts of Unlawful Entry into Vehicle, 4 counts of Theft III, 1 count Theft II, PCS - Methamphetamine
 
-White, Michelle Lee, DOB/121583, Transient – Theft III by possession, PCS – Methamphetamine
 
The Talent Police Department was assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
