Construction begins on Hwy 99- Talent to Ashland

Oregon 99: Rapp Road to Ashland City Limits

Region 3: Southwestern Oregon (Ashland, Talent, Jackson)


This project modifies existing Oregon 99 lanes as well as upgrades the highway with new pavement and, depending on the section, new curb, gutter, sidewalk and bike lanes and defined (access controlled) driveways.

Construction Impacts

This is a single season project for contractor Knife River Materials. KRM's scheduled shows crews mobilizing into the project beginning week of April 23 for excavating storm sewer pipe.
Expect mostly day paving later in the spring/summer when temperatures are warmer.
Access into businesses will remain open during this work.

Additional Information

​It modifies the existing highway at three distinct sections - each with bike lanes on both sides:

Rapp Rd. to Creel Rd.: three lane section with center turn lane, bike lane and sidewalks.

Creel Rd. to Talent Ave.: three lane section with center turn lane and bike lanes.

From Talent Ave. to South Valley View Rd.:  one lane southbound and two lanes northbound.  Northbound left turn refuge onto Talent Ave.

South Valley View Rd. to Jackson Rd.: five lane section with bike lanes on each side.

Jackson Rd. to Ashland City Limits: three lane section with center turn lane and bike lanes. This will match with Ashland’s existing North Main St. configuration.
